Future Of India

So, Indian government finally decided to give 27% OBC reservation in higher education. People are protesting around and want justification for giving this reservation to those who do not deserve a good career, as they have not got the high percentage in their academics and cannot do well in exam and interviews of IIM, IIT etc.

From government’s point of view higher education can bring the light in their career and as they have not got the facilities that a general class student get - Right?

Wrong, this is not an explanation of giving reservation to a person who could not do well in academics because he/she is an OBC but the fact is from more than 6 years I am seeing reservation in government jobs and OBCs getting quick promotions.

If we see, 7 years of good education, it is sufficient for a student to compete for higher education. OBC Vs. general class, many people who deserve good higher education but cannot come in the picture because they don’t have enough facilities, should get reservation. Sometimes I think that the India is going back to its “cast based profession culture”.

Ok, I have got an idea. What if there is an OBC quota for doctors who operate the ministers and the architects who build their houses and security team of a minister. Apparently the 30 per cent pilots are OBC to drive their planes. Is it a good joke or a serious issue to think about?

Finally, these kinds of decisions from Indian government promote authors to write a book with the title “Future of India”.

  • I am very much agree on Amit concern regarding reservation and support too with a loud voice. This kind of reservation is ruining our country and most of all we are lacking the good and intelligent persons. If government really wants to do something in favour of OBC's then in my point of view, they should tell them to study hard, provide books, provide better living standards, etc. Why the govt. just suppressing one class of society in uplifting the other class? I think my point is very much precise and the govt. should move their steps forward in implementing this.

  • Why not you try to write this book.Infact, this is very good attempt to think about one's own country don't you think it is following to shift the tasks upon others. This is the reason that why underdeveloped countreis are still not developing.Everything should be done by government and tasks should be done by others as identified by some one else.I hope there would be a day when all developing countries would come in the list of developed countries ,for sure require competency with delibrate efforts.
